Sephora is well-known for the many high-end brands they carry. Prices of the products are pretty steep but totally worth it.
From Marc Jacobs, Kat Von D to NYX and Clinique, and now even, Rihanna's Fenty Beauty, they carry a variety of make-up products, to hair, face and skin products. When I walk into Sephora, I easily spend more than 1 hour walking in circles, hunting for new brands/products to try out.
So about once or twice a year, Sephora would hold their 20% sale exclusively for BLACK & GOLD card members and any Sephora make-up junkie knows that it's time for our make-up bags to be filled and our tummys' to be empty. This year's sale was from 6th-8th Oct.
20% may not sound like a lot, but to a make-up junkie, IT IS!
So before the sale, Sephora members received emails and notifications from the app informing us about the sale. They were so nice to even offer tips on how to skip the queue and place our orders online and into our cart before the beginning of the sale. Well, I made 2 lists of what I was going to buy, so that I don't end up overspending (but that always seems to happen).
Previously, I also noticed that the KLCC branch actually offers the brand Hourglass, but not the other physical stores. So I decided to take a Saturday to do some shopping and try to keep within my budget of RM300 max.
Got there and rushed over to the store. On the way, I noticed so many men and women, clad with a small Sephora bag in hand. Well, I was going to get one too! So I walked over there and went right in to see the store packed like a sardine can! I mean duh, it's KLCC right?
Whipped out my list and started looking around the store.
Went to Urban Decay first, started looking at the Rose Gold eye-shadow palette I had been eye-ing for quite awhile. Ok, part of my list, so I did a few swatches and then put it in my basket.
Item 1, check!
Walked over to NYX to see their strobing/highlighting palette. 7 highlighters with different shades packed in 1 palette, of course it's a good steal. Found it-swatched it-put it in the basket.
Been wanting to buy another bottle of make-up brush cleaner from Sephora, so I took 1 bottle (now i regret not taking 2!) Asked a beauty consultant if the Sephora or NYX brand was better since I've never tried the latter. She said that the NYX one kinda dried out her make-up brushes and it doesn't dry as fast too.
Went to the next counter, Benefit. Spotted a cute little box that read 'Sunday my prince will come'. Turned it around and it showed a preview of what was inside. A big fan of blushes, btw. The total price of these items are worth more than RM300 and since I love trying buying things in sets, I thought why not?
Ended up paying RM412.8 instead of RM516! Saved over 100 bucks, thankfully.
And that was my trip to Sephora to get my 20% discount!
Love a lot,
MitchieThomas
